Accumulator Charge Indicator with 10 LED by LM3914
Description:

This circuit is designed for visual inspection of the car battaries.  The minimum and maximum operating values of the circuit are 3V and 25V. The circuit can be used with any other circuits as a voltage indicator.

The charge of the battery can be easily seen by the 10 LED sequence. The circuit can be used in a measure range of 3V-25V in other circuits after adjusted. But it can not show voltage values less than 3V and the IC wil be demaged if it is used with values grater than 25V. LM3914 is a dot/bar display driver and it includes 10 voltage comperator inside. The voltage difference between each comperator is equal. The minimum input voltage value can be adjusted by using P2. For this adjustment process, D10 LED will illimunate at the minimum voltage. By using the P1 and P2, the minimum and maximum voltage values can be set. This interval is devided in to ten parts inside the LM3914 IC...

4 x 55 Watt Sound Amplifier by TDA7560

Description:

This is a 4x55 watt sound amplifier designed by the popular quad bridge amplifier TDA7560. With a 14.4V supply the circuit gives 4 x 55W output on 2 Ohm load. The circuit is activated when the ST-By and MUTE pins are both connected the Vcc. The maximum supply voltage is 18V.

Automatic 12V Accumulator Charge Circuit with CD4043

Description:

Batteries are systems which store energy in appropriate conditions by using other power supplies, and than use this energy when needed. They incluede rechargable chemcial material. To charge the battery ,ten percent of the power of the battery should be applied. For instance, consider a 40 A battery, we need to apply 4 amperes to charge...

12V DC to 220V AC Inverter - 500W with 4047

Print E-mail

12V DC to 220V AC Inverter - 500W with 4047

Description:

This circuit is designed for inverting 12V DC voltage in to the 220V AC voltage. The IC 4047 is used to generate square wave of 50Hz and amplify the current. Then by using the step transformer, it amplifies the voltage. This inverter circuit is low cost and stable. Be careful while working on this circuit since it uses high voltage.

How to calculate transformer rating:

The basic formula is P=VI and between input output of the transformer we have Power input = Power output

For example if we want a 220W output at 220V then we need 1A at the output. Then at the input we must have at least 18.3V at 12V because: 12V*18.3 = 220v*1

So you have to wind the step up transformer 12v to 220v but input winding must be capable to bear 20A.
