IR Remote Controlled Light Dimmer

Overview

The device is made to adjust the lights in a house with the use of any type of remote controller with IR interface to improve the quality of life.

Explanation

Only two keys on the remote controller are required by the IR light dimmer which makes the circuit simple to use. These keys are not often used or which are not used at all and will replace the existing light switch with just one button. The two remote controller keys can be memorized by the light dimmer where the first one will be used to turn ON lights or increase light intensity while the other will be used to decrease light intensity or turn OFF lights.

The light can be controller in two ways, either with remote controller or with pushbutton. In using the pushbutton, turning ON or OFF lights is done by applying short press but if the button is pressed and held for 300ms,the light intensity increases to maximum or decreases to minimum continuously until the button is pressed. If the light will go to maximum for 3 times by pressing and holding the button, the remote controller enters the memorizing keys mode.
