Construction of The Tweak-O

Overview

The project aims to build a kind of pedal with adjustable clipping, more control, and better sound and is known as The Tweak-O.

Explanation

The assembly of The Tweak-O involves the use of perforated circuit board or more commonly known as perfboard which is more convenient than hand-wired prototype. The locations of the mounting studs are designated before the components are mounted on the board. The enclosure is made from a cast aluminum box with a screw-on lid. Locating the holes for switch, controls, and jacks is the most important step in tooling the box. An anti-rotation tab is present on top of the pots, which is usually cut off by most builders due to additional drilling.

The perfboard guides the temporary mounting of the switch and pots in order to put a mark inside each of the mounting holes of the board. During the population of the board, installing 6 push-in terminals that will be used later as tie points for connections to the pots, jacks, and stomp switch is the first job done.
