Health Monitoring System for Computer
|
|
Overview The project aims to control the fan speed of a PC while the temperature on various check points are monitored by creating a PC System Health Monitor. Details The device provides a separate control module on each fan and each fan has its own address and can be independently monitored. An RPM value is sent by this circuit through the main controller. The speed of rotation by the fan will be kept and reached by this circuit by adjusting the PWM duty cycle every 2-3 seconds. The circuit will be required to increase the duty cycle to have the same speed as the fan gets heavier due to dust or the bearing wears out. For measuring the temperature of a hard disk or a memory DIMM, cheap NTC temperature sensors suitable although they may not be 100% accurate. The input and output air temperature also need to be measured and by dividing the electrical power dissipation of the system by the heat power pumped, the efficiency of the system can be obtained. The temperatures to the A/C controller will be provided by two sensors. The DS1621 temperature sensor modules were made compact as possible. Rest of the project
