Retro Style Arduino Binary Clock
|
|
Overview The Arduino based binary clock project was designed with artistic and retro style for people who are interested on antique stuffs. Explanation From the look of the finished product, it seems a very hard and time costing project but the fact is that it will only require around 4-5 hours spare time to finish the Arduino binary clock instantly. Instead of using the through hole LEDs, the use of surface mount components was preferred on this project. This is because the surface mount components are 20-25 percent cheaper than the ordinary components price. It is always remembered to build an Arduino onto a protoboard first before staring the project to make the process more easy especially when the clock case wants to be fixed. The Arduino sketch will be used after putting all the circuit together. This program will try to get the clock functions working. By cutting a piece of translucent white acrylic and fitting it over the circuit board, the blue LEDs can be muted. The electronics in the lid be hidden by cutting a piece of wood. Some artistic patterns can be curved on the box for people with woodworking skills. Rest of the project
