GPS Finder on a Keychain

GPS Finder on a Keychain

Overview

The project is a keychain-sized device with two buttons that represent Save and Find while incorporating GPS technology.

Explanation

During the usage of the device, the current location can be recorded by pressing Save and pressing Find will visually lead back to the saved button. The device can save up to 9 locations. S-1 will be displayed upon pressing the Save button. It can step through the slots up to 9 by pressing Save again. S-# will be displayed upon pressing Find in which the current location is saved into the chosen slot. Until the location is found, the display blinks slowly. It indicates that the location is saved as it strobes quickly and goes blank. The process can be stopped by pressing any button which turns off the device.

F-1 is displayed by the device upon pressing the Find button which steps through the slots up to 9 by pressing Find again. F-# is displayed when Save is pressed which navigates to the chosen location. While the GPS finds its position, the display blinks and changes to a 3-digit distance signifying meters or yards. When the distance appears, walking forward should be initiated.
