R/C Car Controlled by iPhone

R/C Car Controlled by iPhone

Overview

The objective of the project is to possibly control an inexpensive R/C car using the technology of an iPhone.

Explanation

There are four channels that which needs to be controlled individually and these channels include the left forward, left backward, right forward, and right backward. The switches will be performed by four transistors whose model is 2N7000.

The four possible movements are being controlled by the four little wire loops which lies underneath the folded metal spring of the remote control. Extra care should be observed when soldering a wire to each one so that the normal movement of the joystick will not be obstructed. For the microcontroller to operate on the same power source, a wire should be attached to the 9V battery holder inside the remote control.

The connection of wires is done by opening the controller and drilling a hole for the wires. Half of the plastic box can be removed by taking out the screws on the back side of the remote control. There will be six wires to be soldered in total inside the remote control where the wires have to be brought out to breadboard through a hole.
